Terms
Terms of use
Version 1.0 — in force from Oct. 18, 2026
These terms apply to tricotta.com. If you have any questions about them, write to hello@tricotta.com.
Your account
You sign in with your email address and a code we send you. An account is for one person. Keep access to your email safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in to your account.
What is free
The pattern editor and our collection of stitch patterns are free with an account. For now, garments calculated for your size and your machine are by invitation only. Paid plans are not available yet. When they are, we will put their conditions on this page before we ask anyone to pay.
Your patterns and your garments
The patterns you draw and the garments you save belong to you. We store them only so that you can use them, and we never use them to train AI models. Anyone with an account can see the suggestions you leave on our patterns, together with your name.
Our stitch patterns
Many patterns in our collection come from old books that are now in the public domain. You can knit them and sell the garments you make. Do not republish the collection, or a large part of it, on other sites.
The calculations
Tricotta calculates stitches, rows and yarn from what you enter, such as your swatch and your machine. Knit a swatch and check it before you start a garment. We do our best to get the calculations right, but we are not responsible for yarn or time lost because of a mistake in them.
Acceptable use
Do not use automated programs to copy the site, to send forms in bulk or to overload the pattern editor. We may suspend the account of anyone who does.
Our videos
We publish videos on YouTube through YouTube API Services. When you watch them on YouTube, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
Changes
If we change these terms, we update the date on this page. If a change matters for your account, we write to you before it applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you live in the European Union, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you keep the rights that the consumer protection law of your country gives you.
